After completing their Computing Assessment this week, Year 6 were presented with a challenge: Cargo-Bot.
Cargo-Bot allowed us to work on our ability to ‘decompose problems’ in other words, to take a problem that seemed big and overwhelming and reduce it down into small steps until it’s solved. It also tested their Growth Mindset and perseverance skills when it didn’t go right first time!
Here is an example of a level:
You were giving instructions to the robot to make it move the boxes, but you also had to get the colours the right way around. To make things even more challenging, we had to try and be efficient with our code and not use more instructions than we needed. To help us, we took it one block at a time and celebrated every time something went where we wanted it to!
